About This Building

Affordable Housing for Working Artists: A Creative Haven Project Details: - Number of Apartment Units: 21 - Number of Low Income Apartments: 21 - Number of 2-Bedroom Apartments: 21 - Years in Service: since 2009 - Family Apartments: Available - Senior Apartments: Available - Apartments for Disabled Individuals: Available - Accepts Homeless Individuals: Yes Overview: Our affordable housing program aims to provide a supportive environment for individuals and families with moderate incomes. With below market rents for qualifying individuals, this program assists those in need without relying on subsidies. Each resident is responsible for their full monthly rent payment. Eligibility: To qualify for this program, the total 'gross' income of your household should be less than the pre-set income limit for your area. This limit is based on the geographic location, rather than your individual household income. Creating a Thriving Artists Community: Inspired by the concept of the "creative class" and its potential for economic development, our project features a vibrant artists community and a public gallery. Alongside the live/work loft apartments designed specifically for artists, there is a non-profit art gallery, an outdoor exhibit and gathering space, as well as ample parking. The building's residential lobby is accessible through the courtyard, which doubles as an exhibition space during art openings and street fairs. This courtyard serves as a hub for the resident community, as it organizes the vertical and horizontal circulation around it. The building's iconic curvilinear massing above the gallery opens up views of the courtyard exhibit space, inviting exploration and fostering artistic expression. Important Information: Waiting Lists: Many low-income apartments have waiting lists, and it can take years before an opening becomes available. It is recommended to join multiple waiting lists to increase your chances. Contacting Apartments: We provide phone numbers and websites for direct contact with the apartments. Feel free to reach out to them if they have openings or open waiting lists. Apartment Rates: Current apartment rates are provided on many listing pages. For HUD listings, published rates might not be available, as they are based on 30% of the renter's adjustable gross income. Contact the apartments directly to determine your eligibility for income-based rent.
