Its significant purpose is to offer long-term shelter and supportive services to maximize the self-sufficiency of those who were previously homeless, not only within Miami-Dade County but also in other cities across the state of Florida. This is made possible through collaborative efforts with multiple non-profit organizations. Acting as the "front door" to the range of available resources in the community, the Helpline offers assistance tailored to your needs and vulnerabilities. By assessing your situation, immediate services and aid will be provided to ensure your well-being. Affordable Housing for Those In Need Individuals and families who are currently not homeless but are in search of affordable housing can apply to be placed on our waiting list for housing if they meet the following criteria: - Demonstrating the ability to live independently and harmoniously within the housing community. - Willingness to actively participate in the supportive services offered. - Meeting the U.S. HUD definition of homelessness. - Meeting the income requirements for the project. - Willingness to undergo a drug screening and commit to maintaining a drug-free lifestyle. - Having a disability is a prerequisite for applying to live in specific communities. Applying for Non-Homeless Affordable Housing It is important to note that many apartments presently have waiting lists.
